The Food Systems Industry Management will train students to understand the structures needed to provide and transport food to communities around the world. Students will have a foundation of the economics and market trends affecting the sale of raw commodities required to create products sold at grocery stores. Additionally, students will have the technical expertise in food safety and engineering. The goal is to prepare students in three majors combined in one degree. The participating departments are Nutrition and Food Science (FSIM), Biological Agricultural Engineering (AGSM) and Agricultural Economics (AGEC). Career opportunities are immense in the food industry such as: Frito-Lay, PepsiCo, Cargill and Sysco. Students will be eligible for jobs like accounts executive, quality assurance/control director, marketing or brand specialist, logistics manager, or supply chain director. This is just a sample of employers and job titles students can expect to consider applying to upon graduation.
