Research Statement:  I am interested in various areas of nanotechnology, surface coating, material science, polymer science, synthesis and characterization of antimicrobial nanoparticles, controlled release of active ingredients in food systems, mechanism of actions of sanitizers, effect of surface chemistry and topography on bacterial attachment, ease of removal of biofilms from surfaces, prevention of bacterial attachment and biofilm formation. She is co-advised by Dr. Mustafa Akbulut from the Department of Chemical Engineering.
