The Department of Nutrition offers a minor in Nutrition that will prepare students with general knowledge about the role and impact of human nutrition on health and physiology and different nutritional requirements through the lifespan. Students seeking the minor must complete a minor form and have it approved and signed by the Nutrition undergraduate advisor and their major academic advisor. Students are required to meet all minor course prerequisites.
Eligibility
The Department of Nutrition does not have an application, deadlines or a cap on eligibility hours. As long as you are a current undergraduate student at Texas A&M University with less than 90 semester credit hours completed, you are eligible to pursue a Nutrition minor. Declaration of minor is made in the student’s home college or major department.
Students should complete the following form and obtain necessary signatures to begin the process of adding a Nutrition undergraduate minor.

Students seeking a minor must:
- Complete the appropriate minor form to have approved and signed by an advisor in the Department of Nutrition,

Traditional BSN (Nursing) Prerequisites and Minor in Nutrition
The Department of Nutrition collaborated with the College of Nursing to create a specialized degree track that fulfills the prerequisites for the 2+2 Nursing program while also meeting the requirements for a Minor in Nutrition. This track provides students with a strong foundation in nutrition and health sciences, setting them up for success in their nursing education and careers.
For more details, visit the College of Nursing website or explore our pre-nursing guide, which includes a recommended degree plan for nutrition majors completing their nursing prerequisites.
