Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service

Food and Nutrition Unit

Through the application of science-based knowledge, the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service creates high-quality, relevant continuing education that encourages lasting and effective change.

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service՚s Food and Nutrition Unit provides Texans with the knowledge to make healthy and safe food choices.

Whether they prefer to learn in-person or online, we provide Texans with research-based food and nutrition education. We extend knowledge and provide solutions by:

  • Reaching underserved audiences through the Better Living for Texans and Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program programs,
  • Using digital media to engage and inform through the Plugged-In to Nutrition resources,
  • Educating about food safety through the Food Protection Management program,
  • Helping manage chronic disease through the Do Well Be Well with Diabetes program, and
  • Supporting young adults as they bridge the gap from adolescence to adulthood through LIFE 101 classes.
